Mahashian Di Hatti Private Limited (MDH) was set up by Shri Mahashay Chunni Lal Gulati in 1919 in Sialkot, Punjab state of India which is now in Pakistan. Mahashay Dharampal Gulati, the son of the founder relocated to Delhi after independence. He opened a shop in Delhi (Karol Bagh) and then set up his first spice factory in Kirti Nagar in the year 1959. MDH is now India’s leading spices manufacturer and has 15 factories in different locations.
The company has a range of 62 products today in 150 different packages. Few famous products of the company are Deegi Mirch, Chana Masla, Kitchen King, Chunky Chaat Masala, Meat Masala, Kasoori Methi, Garam Masala, Rajmah Masala, Shahi Paneer Masala, Dal Makhani Masala, and Sabzi Masala.
To maintain the taste and quality the company procures raw material from the centers of the produce which is cleaned, dried, and tested for its quality with the help of special machines for a consistent taste and quality. This tested material is then processed into the finished products through various stages passing through fully automated machines. This is the reason that MDH spices are a symbol of good taste and quality from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and beyond.
MDH products as very popular not only in India but also in other parts of the world. The company exports its line of products to The United States of America, the United Kingdom, and other European countries, South East Asia, Japan, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. To look over its operations in the European Union the company also has an office in London (U.K). The company also functions a state of art manufacturing unit in Sharjah (U.A.E)
